David Attlmayr started his role at THEMA in January 2019. He holds a Master’s degree in International Energy from SciencesPo Paris with a specialisation in renewable energy and environmental policy and graduated from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a Bachelor in International Affairs.
Prior to joining THEMA, he interned with the International Energy Agency’s modelling team, responsible for drafting and modelling of the World Energy Outlook 2018 with particular emphasis on developments in demand side response. Through further internships at BayWa r.e., where he contributed to internationalization strategy, performed market analysis and competition benchmarking in the solar PV and onshore wind sectors, as well as the Austrian Embassy in Washington, D.C., monitoring gas geopolitics and the build-up to COP21, he gained valuable insights into different layers of the energy sector. With DesignWerk, he filed a successful appeal for a state-funded pilot project for electrically-driven waste disposal trucks in Switzerland, defining business plan and strategy for the joint venture.
